| The
Hanhart watch factory was founded in 1882 in Diessenhofen, Switzerland,
and later moved to Germany.
Chronographs, wrist watches, pocket and sport watches were among the products made by Hanhart. During the years preceding the war, the Fliegerchronograph (Pilot's Chronograph) became an indispensable tool for the professional pilot. Known for it's accuracy and durability it was a favorite among aviators of the 1930s After the war, production of Hanhart timing products came to a end, and only in 1948 did Hanhart again begin to manufacture it's precision timing products again. In the sixties chronograph production was again terminated allowing Hanhart to concentrate on mechanical and digital stopwatches and other timing products. |
